Comic Haul week of September 15th, 2026

Doomquest #4
I’ve been speaking poorly about my old favorite, Philip’s Steaks, a lot recently since switching my midnight preference to the far superior (and more fulfilling, and cheaper) Oregon Steaks. When Philip’s added the blaring tiktok tv in the standing area, it was the last straw for me. But, as I am known to forgive those who do not deserve forgiveness, I was in the neighborhood and stopped by. It’s still an above average steak, I admit. Over the weekend though, I was in Ohio and they have something extra by way of food going on there. I had a po’boy (polish boy), not to be confused with a po’boy (poor boy, from the South). A hot dog, French fries, and sweet gravy. I got food poising that night but I blame Shady Maple’s breakfast buffet.
Another special pile of food I had out there was this heavy mess (I mean that in a glorious way). It’s hard to tell, but it’s three pierogis, two over easy eggs, and a hamburger patty, with gravy and fried onions. It’s served at a bar right across the street from the A Christmas Story house. Guy Fieri ate this once, but without the eggs. He liked it, I loved it.

Made breakfast on the grill. Some say it isn’t possible, but you can do it all. You can see everything else we made out in the woods over on Bucky’s page pretty soon. Read a lot of comics while we were out there too.
