Comic Haul week of November 5th, 2024
New comics!
I just want to remind myself in the future that I really like making these little collages. Sometimes it’s work to throw together but it’s rewarding to have work to do that engages a little artistic energy.
Poison Ivy #27
Cruel Universe #4
Teen Titans #45, #47, and #49
Fantastic Four #34 - this was marked down for having a missing page, but as far as I can tell, it isn’t? What a steal!
DC Special #15
Iron Man #13
Over the weekend was one of the local comic shows, they were just givin’ out Seinfeld DVD box sets like they were goin’ out of style. The bootleg Godzilla movies, however, were five dollars.
Fantastic Four #363 (1992)
But can it tell time?
I like these moments because it showcases Reed and Ben’s friendship and sense of humor. In the darkest times you can only makes jokes like this with your best friend. (Susan and Franklin have been kidnapped by aliens)

Transformers #13
Fantastic Four #26
So I was listening to songs from Despicable Me and noticed that Pharrell Williams had a Lego OC as his profile picture on Youtube. It intrigued me, and I learned that Pharrell Williams was having his biopic, Piece by Piece, done in Lego. I talked about this out loud enough times that all the computers in the world decided I should get free tickets to an advance screening. That was really cool! The movie was great, a little exhausting though because it had no conflict. Literal rainbows and dance parties the whole time. I was wondering what warranted its rating of PG (Parental Guidance Suggested) and it’s most likely the Lego versions of music videos that featured bikini girls pouring champagne on each other and also the Lego drug deal in the third act.

Had a weird Thursday night. We heard a weird cult type meeting was happening in Center City, a friend invited me and I had to see it for myself. It was weird, but mostly geared towards old people. It almost felt like we were trapped in a Tim and Eric bit sometimes, the words “Peace” kept flashing on the projector. We decided to bail before they began chanting and touch people in the audience.
We decided to drink beers by the river but upon arriving we stumbled upon a movie night in the park. It took us twenty minutes to figure out the movie was Dave (1993). Such a strange pick! Who’s showing up for Dave (1993)? Beautiful night, great weather, interesting events.

Yeah let’s talk about sandwiches some more
Do you know what scrapple is? There’s many ways to describe it that I don’t think do it justice. It’s a block of pâté, sliced and fried. It’s a Jersey diner classic, like porkroll, discofries, and eggcreams. When I am old, these items will be some of those things that only old people know about, and describe as if they were lost treasures, but will always sound like weird mixtures that should never have been put together. Seriously, look up what an eggcream is (there’s no egg in it, or cream). Check these chomp marks below:
