Red Hood: The Hill #6
Taking a break from Japan-posting to share that I saw Deadpool and Wolverine. I didn’t see the first two Deadpool movies, but this was good and I’ll probably go back and check them out. This movie felt like a comic book as a movie. The best part of the team-up is they have Deadpool and Wolverine fight each other multiple times. Also, cameos that I felt held some real weight. It featured the following beautiful dog.

High on Life #1 - this turned out to be a tie-in with that really unfunny game about the talking guns and this is one of the few comics that I couldn’t even finish reading

Did you know they played films at The Filmore? They got the folding chairs out and everything!
Andrew Callaghan of Channel 5 worked on an independent film that I suspect wasn’t released before since he was going through a cancelation for being a douchebag in college. “Sex Pest” allegations. The movie was really good, and I feel that he was able to transcend his pattern of just showing a freak show for laughs. If “Dear Kelly” ever gets a wide release, I recommend checking it out. It focuses on how people turn to radical politics when aspects of their life fall apart, but also highlights how these vulnerable people had some issues to begin with that get amplified in times of turmoil, and get twisted and crazy.

The Amazing Spider-Man #49 - This new Bloodhunt crossover, that I haven’t even heard about, made getting this difficult last week, according to the clerk anyway. It’s a real shame that people shit on Spider-Man but will come out of the woodwork to hoard special issues.

Last weekend I saw the new Joker movie, the current newest Joker movie, The People’s Joker. I didn’t get any pictures because it was dark inside and wet outside, but it was really cool to see a comic fan-film at Kevin Smith’s theater, the Smodcastle. The People’s Joker really expanded on the themes of being a comedian in a dystopian world. I highly recommend it. I need the soundtrack desperately.

Last weekend my mahjong club ran their first tournament. I didn’t realize how serious it was going to be. Many of the people traveled up to twelve hours to kick my ass and they’re going to do it again in June.
I came in 97th place out of 100 with -252.9 points!
